I had a shocking experience at this vet and surprised all the other reviews are so positive. My Ridgeback was scared going into the vet and there was no attempt to make her feel comfortable. She had a wound on her tail and I suggested to the vet he muzzle her as she didn't want anyone touching it. He did that, but when he went to look at her tail she got a fright and growled and moved suddenly. I would have thought a vet would know what to do in this situation, but he chose to yell at her ('don't you do that to me!!') and hit her (although he denied he hit her. I was standing right there and his hand went up and down in a striking action). He was very aggressive in his approach giving no attempt to calm her. He told me I was too nice to her and that she was a BAD DOG and she had tried to bite him (although she was muzzled). She got so scared and was cowering on the ground and at that point I told him I was leaving. He then old me she had generalised anxiety disorder with his finger pointing at me. He even held the door to stop me leaving. No vet has ever treated me or my dog like that. She just had a sore tail she didn't want touched and was nervous being in a strange place. I was literally shaking when I left. I have since looked up what a vet should do when a dog is anxious and he certainly didn't do any of these :Walk in their paws- think of the world from their perspective TAKE YOUR TIME! DO NOT PUNISH! Physically punishing aggressive or anxious animals may make the situation worse, especially with frightened, anxious pets.Watch your body language Approach the pet quietly, calmly and slowly Approach from the side, not from front or behind Offer treats Speak softly, calmly Slowly stroke (not pat) on the chest Dont use physical force or aggression, it will make it worse. Never use aggression to deal with aggression I'm pleased others have had a positive experience, but I will never go back there again. The one star is for the friendly receptionist.
5 star service and the expertise and dedication of the staff is amazing. Been a customer for over 8 yrs
I am so grateful that I have found my way back to this veterinary clinic. The vets are exceptionally knowledgeable, experienced and capable. They have been able to sort out issues straight away for my dogs that have been unresolved for years despite numerous dealings with other vets. I do not say this lightly but I feel confident that I could leave my dogs with these vets and they would be properly cared for. I have not felt that level of trust with other vets I've been to. All the staff are helpful and so nice to deal with, and the fees are very fair.
Always the best service when you go there. The staff are amazing and are truly there for the animals and not the money. Can't recommend them enough.
Very helpful and kind staff. Had to put one of my pets down and they where very kind through the whole process. Would recommend you go there.
